RYLA is a leadership development programme run by Rotary for young adults aged between 18 and 26

Every year, Spalding Rotary Club sponsors a young adult to take part in the RYLA challenge.
Whether you are a senior school pupil, university student, or young professional, RYLA aims to help participants to discover their potential and develop the skills needed to be a leader in their community, career and everyday life.
The East Midlands Rotary district programme takes palce every August at Grafham Water. The programme lasts for 8 days and includes a range of activities from hands-on, physical challenges, to presentations and workshops.
During a RYLA programme participants will:
- Gain exposure to leadership scenarios.
- Explore problem-solving as part of a team.
- Discuss and apply creative approaches to leadership and conflict management.
- Build confidence in themselves and what they can acheive.
- Meet new people and make lasting friendships.
- Learn how to arrange youth activities and community service profects at home and abroad.
RYLA can be arduous and physically demanding, so a reasonable level of fitness, and the abilty to swim, are essential to ensure that you get the most out of this amazing opportunity.
