Local and national groups to benefit from Rotary

Each year the Rotary Club President has the honour of choosing which charities or social groups they would like to support during the Presidential year.
Graham Dawson, current president of the Spalding Rotary Club has announced ‘This year it is my pleasure to support two organisations, Breast Cancer Now and Rock School Bus.
I chose Breast Cancer Now because my dear mother past way after having a mastectomy and then the cancer returned to defeat her. It is not something I would wish on anyone’.
Graham also chose Spalding-based Rock School Bus after seeing what efforts the organisers go through to make this work for the children that come to them.
Breast Cancer Now are a national charity dedicated to giving support for today and hope for the future, for everyone affected by breast cancer.
They are researchers, building a better future. Nurses and expert staff, supporting you no matter what. Campaigners, fighting to change the things that matter the most.
We are proud to suport the work of this charity.

The Rock School Bus is a Spalding based Community Interest Company (CIC – not for profit) which encourages disaffected children to engage with learning a new musical instrument or singing in front an audience.
They have a double decker bus which is fitted out with musical instruments and even a small recording studio. . In additional they take the bus out to venues as a support vehicle for events.
Not only does all the equipment have to be maintained but the bus has to be kept in full roadworthy condition and insured which is expensive.
They rely on donations to keep them going.
