Update – Let’s Sing” Choir Competition

On 13th February The “Lets Sing Choir competition for Junior schools was held at the Springfield Events Centre. Three choirs took part from Ayscoughfee Hall School, St. Pauls and St Norberts who won the first prize of £200 for their Music Department. 

 

Each of the choristers also received a Winners medal.  The Choirs were Judged on their tone, rhythm, internation and Stage presence.  The two runner-up choirs won £50.  After all the choirs had sung their 2 songs and while the Judges were deliberating, the Rock School Bus Youth Band were kind enough to perform four songs to entertain the audience.  Spalding Rotary Club also donated £50 to them as a thank you.  Around 250 visitors came to the event to cheer on their favourite Choir. 

 

Graham Dawson, Youth Project leader from Spalding Rotary Club and the MC for the event said, “This is the first time that this event has been held and it has proved to be a great success for many reasons.  The aim of the event was to bring together children from all diversities, grow their confidence and encourage them to work together as a team and their enthusiasm for singing certainly shone through.  We already have more choirs applying for next years event”.  The Rotary Club would like to thank all their sponsors including Landmarc Services Ltd and Bakkavor Pizza, who sponsored the schools prize money along with Every Cloud Accountancy, Doodles Pottery, and the Red Lion Hotel who donated a meal for two for the Raffle.
