As we have previously discussed, our help has been requested by SHDC as Stewards for the Remembrance Service in Ayscoughfee Gardens on Sunday 10 November.
The event requires that 12 of us arrive at the cafe in the Gardens at 0945, dressed smartly and suitably for the weather, preferably wearing a poppy.
We will be treated to a coffee and bacon bap (veggie option is available).
Briefing and instructions will be given by me to those who might be new to this. Several of us have done it before.
We will direct about 1500 members of the public where to stand, ensure access through the crowd for the parade and distribute hymn sheets, recovering them later to re-use next year.
Service starts after the parade has arrived at 1100 prompt with 2 mins silence.
If all goes to plan you will be released and home for lunch by 1200.
We must all wear hi viz even if some of it is labelled SHRC.
